Kunal Kohli’s romantic-thriller Fanaa stars Aamir Khan and Kajol in lead roles. The other starcast of the movie includes Rishi Kapoor, Tabu, Shruti Seth and Kiron Kher. The movie was released on May 26, 2006 under tha banner of Yash Raj Films. The superhit music of the film is composed by Music Director duo Jatin-Lalit. The list of the singers in the film includes the names of Shaan, Kailash Kher, Sonu Nigam, Sunidhi Chauhan, Mahalaxmi Iyer, Babul Supriyo etc. Aamir Khan is in the role of a tourist guide in Delhi while Kajol plays a Kashmiri girl in the film. The film was well recieved by the audience and did well at the box office. The movie marked the successful comeback of Kajol in bollwyood movie. She won the Filmfare Best Actress Award for her superb act in the film.

Zooni Ali Beg ( Kajol ), who is a blind Kashmiri girl, travels with a dance troupe to Delhi. In delhi, she meets a guide, Rehan Khan ( Aamir Khan ). Rehan shows her the city and in the meantime fall in love with her. Zooni too starts to develop feeling for Rehan. Finally, Zooni and Rehan decide to marry. Zooni informs her parents, mother Nafisa ( Kiron Kher ) and father Zulfikar Ali Baig ( Rishi Kapoor ) about Rehan and their love. Her parents give their nod to the marriage and tell her to wait for them. Meanwhile, Rehan visits an ophthalmologist who advise him to admit Zooni in their hospital as it is possible to cure her blindness. Rehan wants to have the operation before the wedding and therefore admits Zooni in the hospital. Zooni asks Rehan to visit the Rashtrapati Bhawan to invite their close pal. Zooni gets the news of Rehan’s death in a terrorist bomb attack on Rashtrapati Bhawan.

Later it is revelaed that Rehan is actually a terrorist. Now Rehan wants to build a nuclear explosive device. But for that he wants a part, the detonator or electronic “trigger” device, which is missing from the device. Rehan enters in an Indian Army Unit as a armyman but while taking Trigger back to Delhi, the helicopter meets with an accident. But he survives in the blast and seeks shelter ina remote house. He get shocked on finding that the house belongs to Zooni and her father. He also discovers that Zooni has delivered a boy, Rehan. Later Zooni finds out that the person living in her house is Rehan. Rehan also admits to his identity. But when Zooni discover that Rehan is actually a terrorist she shoots him.
