It another patriotic flicks, in a row with other remakes on Bhagat Singh’s life. Rajkumar Santoshi had very beautifully shown the dearth with which Bhagat Singh ( Ajay Devgan ) sacrificed his life for freedom. A little boy who survived the Jalianwala Bagh massacre but had those horrifying images in his mind, even when he was a grown up. This led him to choose the path of extremist revolutionary. He left the house and met other revolutionaries like Chandrashekhar Azad ( Akhilendra Mishra ), Sukhdev ( Sushant Singh ), Rajguru ( D Santosh ), Ramprasad Bismil ( Ganesh Yadav ) etc. It was nicely shown how he motivated others to go for Kakori Kand to rob the British treasury.

Movie also touched his personal life, his mother ( Farida Jalal ) wanted him to get married and his father wanted him to do a job. But he remained on the path he chose. Then he goes shaking the Britishers by bombing their assembly session and gets caught. His jail issues and reforms he wanted to be applied in jail. His hunger strike along with his friends, were nicely shown and finally when he was sentenced to death. Everything had that patriotic feeling which was needed. The movie was blended with nice patriotic songs. Ajay Devgan was outstanding playing the role. Sets were very good and had the typical old India look. Movie was the best of every remake of Bhagat Singh and thus the movie was a huge success.
