Songs Of Wajood


Nana Patekar, Madhuri Dixit and Mukul Dev starred movie ‘Wajood’ is an action and thriller movie which was directed by N. Chandra. The movie was released on 1st December, 1998 under the banner of N. Chandra Productions. Other starcast included Tej Sapru, Ramya Krishna, Johnny Lever, Maya Alagh, Dr. Hemu Adhikari, Jagdeep, Parikshat Sahni, Shivaji Satham, Rajiv Varma etc in significant roles. The movie was produced by Jayashri N. Chandra ana N. Chandra whereas the dialogues were written by Kamlesh Pandey. Music of the movie was produced by famous Anu Malik whereas the songs of the movie were rendered by Sapna Awasthi, Kavita Krishnamurthy, Udit Narayan, Nana Patekar, Kumar Sanu and Alka Yagnik. Movie starts with Malhar Gopaldas Agnihotri (Nana Patekar) who lives a poor lifestyle alongwith his father (Dr. Hemu Adhikari). Malhar is an actor by profession who has no work and now he is fully dependent on his father’s income. Also his father is in government service and heading for retirement. Malhar knows very well that he can act very well but what he is lacking for is some encouragement and some money in which he has neither. Also Malhar and his father are way seperate from each other as his father is very abusive. Sometimes he gets physical with him openly in front of all the neighbours.

Later one day Malhar comes across a young and beautiful lady named Apoorva Choudhury (Madhuri Dixit). He falls in love with her without knowing that she only considers him as her friend. Also Apoorva has fallen in love with Nihal Joshi (Mukul Dev) who is a Police Inspector. Soon Malhar cmes to know about this and he gets a huge shock. Frustrated from the lack of love and encouragement, he decides to take recourse in an exercise which will put him in direct confrontation with the law.
