Songs Of Taqdeer


Bharat Bhushan and Shalini starred movie ‘Taqdeer’ is an adventure and action packed family drama which was directed by A. Salaam. The movie was released in 1967 under the banner of Rajshri Productions. Other starcast included Farida Jalal, Kamal Kapoor, Sushil Kumar, Jalal Agha, Subhash Ghai, Kajal, Dinesh, Agha etc in significant roles. The movie was produced by Tarachand Barjatya whereas the superhit music of the movie was given by famous duo Laxmikant-Pyarelal. List of playback singers included Mahendra Kapoor, Lata Mangeshkar, Usha Mangeshkar, Sulakshana Pandit, Mohammad Rafi etc. Hit songs of the movie are listed below:

Movie starts with Gopal (Bharat Bhushan) who lives a poor lifestyle alongwith his wife named Sharda (Shalini), two daughters and one son. Their life is getting more worse by time and this enforces Gopal to search employment overseas. Therefore he has to travel overseas and for this he travels by boat. But unfortunately his boat hits by a storm and sinks in the sea. Soon Sharda and children come to know about his husband’s death and they are shocked. Now their condition becomes more worse as they are on the verge of starvation and nobody is there to take care of them. After that she decides to marry Vijay (Kamal Kapoor) reluctantly as she has no other options.

On the other hand, Gopal is not dead but loses his memory. He is unable to remember anything from his past life. Similarly, several years have gone now and one day Gopal does remembers everything from his past life. By the time, his children are now grown up and are well adjust themselves in the new found wealth. Here Gopal also does not want to interfere with his family’s new life. But somehow Vijay comes to know about Gopal and feels threatened as if he would interfere in his life. Therefore Vijay decides to get rid of Gopal.
