Songs of Talaaq


Rajendra Kumar and Kamini Kadam starred movie ‘Talaaq’ is a family drama movie which was directed by Mahesh Kaul. The movie was released in 1958 under the banner of Anupam Chitra. Other starcast included Kusum Thakur, Sajjan, Yashodra Katju, Lal Bahadur, Radhakrishan, Daisy Irani, Moolchand, Ashwani and many more in equally important roles. The movie was produced by Mahesh Kaul and Mukhram Sharma whereas the story of the movie was also written by Mukhram Sharma. The evergreen music of the movie was given by famous C. Ramchandra and the songs of the movie were rendered by Manna Dey and Asha Bhosle. Hit songs of the movie are listed below:

1. Mere Jeevan Mein Kiran

Movie starts with a young and beautiful woman named Indu (Kamini Kadam) who lives a middle-class lifestyle along with her father named Moolchand Chabbe (Radhakrishan). His father is a widower and also an unemployed person. They are living on the top floor of the building and her father makes this is his duty to prevent anyone from occupying the lower floor. This is due to the frequent flow of the municipal water pipe-line as well as as not to tamper the pipe line. On the other hand a guy named Ravi Shankar Chaube (Rajendra Kumar) comes to occupy the lower floor and gets strong resistance from Moolchand. But at last he manages to occupy the room.

Ravi is an engineer and also a poet by profession. Later he comes across Indu and later both of them fall in love with each other and also want to get married. But her father applies some conditions in front of Ravi which he accepts. Later he gets married with her with his father-in-laws conditional blessings. He starts to live with them as a ‘Ghar Jamai’. Then Indu quits her job and soon becomes pregnant. Later she gives bith to a baby boy and name him Ashoo (Daisy Irani). After some years, Moolchand has got the habbit of spending Ravi’s hard earnings in gamble. This results in putting everyone on a strict budget forcing Indu to get her job back.
