Songs Of Solva Sawan

Amol Palekar and Sridevi starred movie ‘Solva Sawan’ is a romantic and family drama movie which was directed by Bharathi Rajaa. The movie was released in 1979 and other starcast included Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Madhukar, Dina Pathak and many more who played significant supporting roles in the movie. The music of the movie was given by famous Jaidev whereas the lyrics of the songs were written bythe lyricist named Naqsh Lyallapuri. The songs of the movie were sang by K. J. Yesudas, Vani Jairam, Anuradha Paudwal etc who gave their soulful voice to the songs. Hit songs of the movie are listed below:

Movie starts with a sixteen years old girl named Mehna (Sridevi) who lives in a village. She is full of ambitions which she wants to fulfill. Also she wants to become a teacher. Later one day a Vet doctor comes to her village. He looks smart, wealthy and handsome and soon many of the village girls fall for him. Soon he meets Mehna and falls in love with her. Also Mehna is too young for love but still she manages to get in. Later she falls deep in love with him and therefore sacrifices her opportunity to study in the teaching college course to spend time with him.

Meanwhile one day the doctor wants to get intimate with her to which she refuses. Then he confronts with her and that time she comes to know that he is only after her to get intimate with her. But he does not accepts defeat and tries again with Mehna. At the same time, sh is rescued by a fellow villager (Amol Palekar) who is a physically handicapped orphan. Also he is secretly in love with Mehna but does not dare to tell her. But when he saw Mehna and the doctor attracted towards each other, he became jealous. Later one day another villager (Kulbhushan Kharbanda) tries to rape Mehna and then the fellow villager kills him resulting in his arrest.
