Bobby Deol and Preity Zinta starrer suspense thriller Soldier is directed by Abbas-Mustan. Caption Vijay Malhotra ( Pankaj Dheer ) is murdered by three army officials Pratap Singh ( Suresh Oberoi ), Virendra Sinha ( Dalip Tahil ) and Baldev Sinha ( Sharat Saxena ), when he tries to arrest them. All of three army persons are engaged in the illicit ammunation to gangster, Jaswant Dalal ( Salim Ghouse ). They also covinces the authorities that vijay was the person behind the selling of illicit ammunation. They behave very badly to Vijay’s wife Geeta ( Rakhee ) and his son.

Years later, Dinesh kapoor ( Ashish Vidhyarti ), a close friend of late Vijay malhotra, hires a killer named Vijay for the revenge purpose. He asks Vicky to meet Preeti Singh ( Preity Zinta ), who is the daughter of Pratap Singh. Preeti falls in love with Vicky. With the help of Preeti, vicky starts murdering all the convicts of Captain Vijay’s murder one by one. Later it is revelaed that vicky is in actual none other than Vijay malhotra’s son, Raju, who is seeking revenge from his father’s murderers.
