Songs of Shree Ram Bharat Milap


Mahipal and Anita Guha starred an epic movie ‘Shree Ram Bharat Milap’ is a family adventure movie which was directed by Manibhai Vyas. The movie was released in 1965 under the banner of M. Art Productions. Other starcast included Nirupa Roy, Prithviraj Kapoor, Sulochana Latkar, Raj Kumar, Saraswathi, C.N. Kapoor, Madhumati, Shekhar Purohit, Bela Bose, Aruna Irani, Anand Tiwari etc in significant roles. The music of the movie was given by famous Pandit Shivram and the list of the playback singers included Asha Bhosle, Lata Mangeshkar, Kamal Barot, Mahendra Kapoor, Mohammad Rafi etc. The movie was an average rated movie which did average collection at the box office. Movie starts with Raja Shree Dashrath (Prithviraj Kapoor) who is the king of Ayodhya and lives a wealthy lifesyle alongwith his three wives named Kaushalya (Sulochana Latkar), Sumitra and Kaikaye (Nirupa Roy). One day he is on a royal hunt and then suddenly hears a voice of somebody drinking water from a nearby pond. He thinks it is a deer shoots an arrow in it’s direction. But unfortunately he hears a human cry of pain. He quickly comes to the place of incidence and is shocked to see a young man who is now battling from life and death. He tells Raja that he is taking water to his blind parents and then he dies but before that he also asks him to take some water to his thirsty parents. When the parents come to know about his son’s death, they curse Raja and his family.

Several years later, the time has arrived to test Raja Dashrath when Kaikaye demands to give Ram (Mahipal) fourteen years of banishment from the Ayodhya and to make Bharat, the king of Ayodhya. Later Ram, Sita (Anita Guha) and Laxman go on the banishment on foot, with nothing but simple clothing. Dashrath does not takes this and passes away. Bharat also gets angry with his mother when he comes to Ayodhya and later knows the trick of his mother. He decides to locate Ram and Sita and when he finds them and asks them to return, they refuse to keep their father’s promise. Bharat agrees to burn himself if Ram does not comes back to Ayodhya after the exact time of banishment and takes footware of his elder brother to place on the throne.
