Songs Of Shravan Kumar

Chandrima Bhaduri, Abhi Bhattacharya and Bharat Bhushan starrer movie, ‘Shravan Kumar’ is directed by Chandrakant. It is a religious movie which is released in the year 1984 under the production of Jagdish P. Barula and Shantichandra G. Bambri. Other supporting casts are Jayshree Gadkar, Padmarani, Sachin, Rajni Sharma, Dara Singh, Kumud Tripathi, Sunder etc. Bappi Lahiri has directed the music of the movie and songs are rendered by some famous names of the industry such as K C Dey, Asha Bhosle etc. Hit songs of the movie are listed below:

The story of the movie is about Shantvarkumar Sharma played by Bharat Bhushan who is perfect for this role. His wife’s role is played by Purnima as Gyanvati who is dedicated towards him. But both of them are uncomplete as they have no child. Thats why both of them start to pray Lord Brahma. Soon Brahma appears and ask them to demand whatever they want. As a result they soon become proud parents of a devoted son, Shravankumar. But they are also warned by Brahma not to see him otherwise they will lose their vision. But they cannot make their promise too long and after one month they see their son and become blind.

Later one day Gyanvati goes to the river and does not finds her son. Later Shravankumar is eventually brought back to them by Maharaja Dashrath whoes role has been played by Abhi Bhattacharya. Both of them bless Dashrath and soon he also become father of four children. Several years later Shravankumar has grown up and is very devoted to his parents. He worships his parents instead of other gods. Therefore Devi Maa Maya wants to test his devotion. Later he comes to know that due to him, his parents have lost their vision. Therefore he decides to take them to pilgrimage. Later the story takes too many turns when he is hitted by Dashrath’s arrow.
