Songs of Shor


Manoj Kumar and Jaya Bhaduri starred movie ‘Shor’ is a family comedy drama and romantic movie which was produced and directed by Manoj Kumar. The movie was released in 1972 under the banner of V.I.P. Films. Other starcast included Prem Nath, Kamini Kaushal, Manorama, Meena T., Shefali, Manmohan, Raj Mehra, Nana Palsikar, V. Gopal, Satyajit Puri, Kumari Naaz, Madan Puri etc who played important supporting roles. The movie was also written by Manoj Kumar and the music of the movie was directed by famous Laxmikant-Pyarelal. List of playback singers included Shyama Chittar, Manna Dey, Mahendra Kapoor, Lata Mangeshkar and Mukesh whose voice made the songs really interesting. Hit songs of the movie are listed below:

Movie starts with Shankar (Manoj Kumar) who is a poor chap and lives happily with his family which consists of his wife named Geeta (Nanda) and his son named Deepak (Master Satyajeet). A misfortune occurs when his son Deepak goes to the railway tracks and starts walking over them. When Geeta sees him walking there, she is shocked because a train is approaching him and is far just a few metres. So she rushes him to warn and rescue him. She is succeeded but she is run over by the train which results in her instant brutal death. Seeing this Deepak suudenly becomes silent and later he loses his vocal chords and is not able to speak a single word.

Shankar is also double shocked after his wife’s death and his son’s problem. He decides to take Deepak to a doctor and soon he visits a doctor (Raj Mehra) who examins Deepak. He tells Shankar after examin Deepak that he can recover his voice after a surgerical operation. But the sum of the operation is a big one which costs him around one thousand to one and half thousand rupees which Shankar is not able to afford this. But he is determined to find the money to cure his son. His determination leads to take part in a grueling tournament that puts his very life at risk. His mother (Kamini Kaushal), sister (Naaz), Khan Badshan (Prem Nath), Rani (Jaya Bhaduri) offer support.
