Songs of Shararat


Abhishek Bachchan and Hrishitaa Bhatt starred bollywood movie ‘Shararat’ is a comedy, romantic and family drama movie which was directed by Gurudev Bhalla. The movie was released on 12th July, 2002 under the banner of Work Station. Other starcast included Amrish Puri, Mohnish Bahl, Helen, Om Puri, Ashish Vidyarthi, A.K. Hangal, Tinnu Anand, Daisy Irani, Dara Singh, Rajendranath Zutshi, Anjan Srivastav etc in significant roles. The movie was produced by Gurudev Bhalla and Suraj Bhalla whereas the story of the movie was written by Urmi Juvekar. Dialogues were written by Tanveer Khan and the music was given by Babloo Chakravorty. Songs were rendered by Sonu Nigam, Sarfaraz Khan, Alka Yagnik, Arvinder Singh etc. Hit songs of the movie are listed below:

Movie starts with Niranjan Khanna (Romesh Sharma) who lives a wealthy and luxurious lifestyle alongwith his wife named Nandini Khanna (Navni Parihar) and only son named Rahul Khanna (Abhishek Bachchan). Rahul is a careless person who does not understand the expectations of his parents and always busy with his friends in racing and breaking the law. One day, during the car race, he gets himself in trouble with the law alongwith his buddies. But he manages to bribe the cop and gets free. Later he once again gets in trouble when he wrecks several vehicles while speeding. This time he is arrested and present in the court. The DCP Bhosle (Om Puri) wants Rahul to spend sometime with a reporter named Neha Sengupta (Hrishitaa Bhatt).

But on the contrary, Neha wants a unique punishment for him. She wants him to do community service in an home for senior citizens. K.R.P. Murthy (Anjan Srivastav) likes the idea of this unique sentence and sentences an unrepenting Rahul to a senior citizen’s home out in the country. But Rahul gets voilent after reaching to the old age home. There, one of the residents named Prajapati (Amrish Puri) decides to call the judge and have Rahul arrested for violation of his sentence. Later he agrees reluctantly to carry out his sentence. Later his life changes when the Manager named Vikram Saxena (Mohnish Bahl) together with Mr. Arora (Ashish Vidyarthi) asks them to leave the place as there will be a new construction.
