Songs Of Sharafat


Ashok Kumar, Dharmendra and Hema Malini starred movie ‘Sharafat’ is a drama movie which was directed by Asit Sen. The movie was released in 1970 under the banner of Seven Arts Films. Other starcast included Sonia Sahni, Abhi Bhattacharya, Jagdeep, Kanhaiyalal, D.K. Sapru, Zebunissa, Jankidas, Brahm Bhardwaj, Roopesh Kumar, Mohan Choti, Tun Tun, Sunder etc in important roles. The movie was produced by Madan Mohla whereas the story of the movie was written by Mahesh Kaul. The screenplay and dialogues of the movie were given by Nabendu Ghosh and Krishan Chander respectively and music was rendered by famous duo Laxmikant-Pyarelal. Songs were sang by Asha Bhosle, Lata Mangeshkar, Mohammad Rafi etc. Hit songs of the movie are listed below:

Movie starts with a woman who lives a poor lifestyle. Later she gives birth to a son and named him as Rajesh. But unfortunately she dies and the child is then taken care of a wealthy man named Jagatram (Ashok Kumar). After twenty long years, he grows Rajesh (Dharmendra) up to become a good man and also provides education to him. Now Rajesh is pursuing his Ph.D to which Jagatram is so pleased. Also he has a daughter named Rekha (Sonia Sahni) to which he wants to get Rajesh marry with because she falls in love with him. What she does not knows that another man named Arun (Roopesh Kumar) who is an engineer by profession, is looking for her.

Later Jagatram sends Rajesh to a hill station to complete his thesis. Later Rajesh comes across a singing voice of a woman and he follows that voice. Soon she meets a young and attractive woman with whome he falls in love with. Soon he completes his thesis and on this behalf, he gets a job as guardian of a boy’s hostel at the university. Later one day he finds that some beds are vacant and then he goes in search of those boys. Then he discovers that they are frequenting a local brothel where a dancer named Chandabai (Hema Malini) performs. Now he is shocked to see the same woman here with whome he has met earlier and she is none other than Chanda.
