Amitabh Bachchan and Mala Sinha starred movie ‘Sanjog’ is a comdey drama movie which was produced and directed by S.S. Balan. The movie was released in 1971 under the banner of Gemini Studios. Other starcast included Aruna Irani, Madan Puri, Nasir Hussain, Johnny Walker, Keshto Mukherjee, Ramesh Deo, Birbal, V. Gopal, Sulochana Chatterjee, Master Sheroo, Master Ratan etc in significant roles. The music of the movie was given by famous music director and playback singer Rahul Dev Burman and list of playback singers included Asha Bhosle, Kishore Kumar, Lata Mangeshkar and Mohammad Rafi. Movie starts with Mohan (Amitabh Bachchan) who lives a middle-class lifestyle. One day he meets with a beautiful woman named Asha (Mala Sinha) and eventually both fall in love with each other. Soon they get married privately in a private temple. But the newly married life of them is not so easy as the circumstances force them to get seperate from each other. After that Mohan marries with Seema (Aruna Irani) and soon they become proud parents of two children. Mohan is employed with the local municipality now and is happily living with his family. Later he comes to know that there is a new Collector coming to the town.

But he is shocked to know that the new collector is none other than his past love Asha. Also she will take over this position and will be Mohan’s boss. Soon Asha joins the post and rumours start to circulate about Mohan and Asha. When Seema comes to know about these rumours she first of all neglects them but gets a shock when she comes across a photograph of Mohan and Asha together exchanging garlands and getting married. She confronts with Mohan and ask him about the photograph and Asha.
