Bollywood sufi playback singer, Rahat Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, was born in the year 1974 in Faislabad, Pakistan. He is the newphew of famous singer late Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan sahab. Nusrat sahab had nominated Rahat as his successor before his death. Rahat Fateh Ali Khan began his career as a playback singer in bollywood industry with John Abraham and Udita goswami starred musical thriller Paap. He sang the hit song ‘ Lagi tumse mann ki lagan ‘ picturised on John in the movie. He instantly shot to fame after he rendered this song in the film.

His next song was in the film Omkara which starred Ajay Devgan, Kareena Kapoor and Bipasha Basu in the lead roles. his next hit song came in the form of ‘Main jahan rahoon ‘ of Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif starrer Namastey London. He gave another hit song ‘ Jag soona soona lage ‘ of Shahrukh Khan and Deepika Padukone starrer Om Shanti Om. He then gave his melodious voice for the movie Jhoom Barabar Jhoom.

Though, Madhuri Dixit starrer Aaja nachle failed to get success at the box office but the song rendered by Rahat sahab in the film was highly appreciated by the audience and top the musical charts for a long time. However, his songs in Woodstock Villa and Haal-E-Dil went unnoticed because of the poor show of the films at the box office window. But he once again returned with another hit song ‘ teri ore ‘ of Singh Is King. He sang the duet with Shreya Ghoshal for this song.
