Songs Of Prithvi Vallabh

Sohrab Modi, Durga Khote and Sankatha starred very old and classical movie titled ‘Prithvi Vallabh’ is an action and epic drama which was directed by Sohrab Modi himself. The movie was released in 1943 under the banner of Minerva Movietone. The story of the movie was written by K.M. Munshi whereas the dialogues and screenplay of the movie was given by Pandit Sudershan. The old and melodious music of the movie was given by famous Saraswati Devi and Rafiq Ghaznavi whereas the lyrics of the songs were written by Pandit Sudershan. Mir Sahib had given the music effects in the movie. Songs of the movie were rendered by Ameerbai Karnataki, Menka, Meena, SheelaRafique Ghaznavi

Movie starts with a guy named Prithvi Vallabh (Sohrab Modi) who is the king of a region and lives a wealthy and leavish lifestyle in his palatial palace. On the other hand there is another king named Sailab Raj (Sankatha Prasad) who is Prithvi Vallabh’s peak rival. Prithvi is a great ruler who is always ready for the service of the people of his kingdom. Later a battle starts between both Prithvi and Sailab in which Sailab is defeated and later is captured and brought in front of Prithvi. Later he is ordered to wash Prithvi’s feet with holy water in front of the whole kingdom which he has to do. After that Prithvi makes him friend and releases him.

When Sailab comes to his kingdom, he is surprised that nobody is there to welcome him as he is a loser. Later his sister named Mrinalvati (Durga Khote) tells him that she will only become happy when he will capture Prithvi. Later Sailab manages o get over Prithvi and puts him in prison. Later she meets him and soon both fall in love with each other. Later both of them decide to escape but Sailab comes to know about this and orders that Prithvi be killed on being trampled upon by elephants. Soon the day arrives and Prithvi tells that he is ready to die. After that Mrinalvati too goes with him and both of them are killed.
