Parveen Babi was a famous actress in bollywood who was born on 4th April, 1949 at Junagadh. She is remembered for her glamourous roles in the movies. She did her schooling in Aurangabad and later attended St. Xavier’s College, Ahmedabad. She was daughter of Vali Mohammed Babi who was a Gujarati Muslim and was an administrator with the Nawab of Junagadh. She was the only child of her parents and was born after fourteen years of their marriage. Parveen Babi did not marry the whole life thus have no children. She was rumoured to have relationships with some celebrities such as Mahesh Bhatt, actors Kabir Bedi, and Danny Denzongpa.

Parveen Babi was considered to be one of the most successful Bollywood actresses in the 1970s. She did not care about the conventional norms of society. She made her debut in bollywood with the movie Charitira in 1973 directed by B.R. Ishara. She was in the college when she starred in the movie. She became the first Indian actress to have been featured on TIME magazine’s cover in March 1977. She was mostly paired with Amitabh Bachchan in most of her superhit movies such as Deewar in 1975, Amar Akbar Anthony (1977), Shaan (1980), Kaalia (1981) and Khud-daar (1982). She was often compared with her contemporary Zeenat Aman due to their common image of being sex-symbols. She has also acted in Mahaan (1983) and Ashanti (1982) with Zeenat Aman.
She played the supporting role in big hit Kranti in 1981 which was directed by Manoj Kumar. She played supporting role with Hema Malini as leading actress in the movie. She became fail to gain success in 1980s and moved to New York in 1983. Many of her movies were released after her going. Her last movie was released in 1988. She returned to Mumbai in 1992 where she was unrecognizable due to a considerable amount of weight she gained. She died on 20th January, 2005. She was found dead in her Mumbai Apartment after her residential society secretary complained to the police that she had not collected milk and newspapers from her doorstep for two days. She was buried next to her mother at Santa Cruz, in Mumbai on January 23.
