Avinash Wadhavan and Karisma Kapoor starred movie ‘Papi Gudiya’ is a horror and thriller movie which was directed by Lawrence D’Souza. The movie was released in 1996 under the banner of Aum Films. Other starcast included Tinnu Anand, Mohan Joshi, Subbiraj, Brahmachari, Shraddha Verma, Vikas Anand, Razak Khan, Poonam Dasgupta, Shakti Kapoor, Manmauji etc in important roles. The movie was produced by Raaj Chhabra whereas the movie was written by Talat Rekhi. Naresh Sharma has given the music of the movie and list of playback singers included Bali Brahmabhatt, Alisha Chinoi, Udit Narayan, Poornima, Kumar Sanu, Twinkle and Alka Yagnik. Movie starts with Charan Raj (Shakti Kapoor) who is also known as Channi. He leads a life of crime and has now become master of crime. He does all the illegal activities such as theft, kidnapping and black magic. He has a desire to rule over the whole world and for this he can also take the support of black magic and even that of murdering children. Now Charan has eyed an innocent boy named Raju (Master Amar) who is the only support for his sister Karisma (Karishma Kapoor). She is an artiste who dances and sings for a living. One day Raju takes fancy to a toy doll and Karisma gets it for him as a present without knowing that the doll has a black magic.

Raju becomes very happy to get that doll and spends all his time with it. Later he tells his sister that the doll can talk to him which she ignored thinking of his childhood. One day she has to go for a dance and therefore she leaves Raju in care of her friend namd Meena. Later when she returned to home, she is shocked to get the information that Meena has been killed. Later Raju claimed that it was the doll that killed her. Police Inspector Vijay Saxena (Avinash Wadhavan) is assigned this case who later ask some questions from Raju. But she stops him in doing so. The case gets more complicated when another police inspector named A. Yadav (Tinnu Anand) gets killed and the suspect is none other than Raju who was seen near the place of crime.
