Dilip Kumar and Vajyanti mala starrer bollywood movie “Naya Daur” was released under the banner of BR Films in the year of 1978. The movie Naya Daur was one of the biggest hits of its time. The story of the movie revolves around the life of a young man called Shankar ( Dilip Kumar ), he was a tangewala by profession and used o ean his living by taking people to their destination on his tanga. The twist in the movie comes when one day they learnt that the rich and influential land lord Kundan aka Chote Babu ( Jeevan ) decided to take a leap forward and bring new technology into the area. He decided to start a bus service from the railway station to the village.

They would hamper the lives of the tangewalas very badly, hence the opposed him but of no use. Now Shankar decided to do something and hence he challenged Kundan for a race in which he would run his tanga against Kundan’s bus. If he looses the race then Kundan is free to start his bus service else the Tangewalas would continue their job. All the tangewala’s were against this and none supported Shankar. He alone started to built a road for the race with his friends. Soon all the tangewalas came for his help and they constructed a good road for the race. What happens on the race day? Will a Tanga be able to defeat a mechanized bus in a race?
