Songs of Nauker


Sanjeev Kumar, Jaya Bhaduri and Yogeeta Bali starred movie ‘Nauker’ is a comedy drama movie which was directed by Ismail Memon. The movie was released on 7th December, 1979 and the other starcast included Mehmood, Manmohan Krishna, Lalita Pawar, Madhu Malini, Jalal Agha and Shatrughan Sinha in significant roles. The movie was produced by Govindram Ahuja and Ismail Memon whereas the hit music of the movie was given by famous Rahul Dev Burman. List of playback singers included Asha Bhosle, Kishore Kumar, Lata Mangeshkar and Mohammad Rafi. Hit songs of the movie are listed below:

Movie starts with Amar (Sanjeev Kumar) who lives a poor lifestyle alongwith his daughter and a servant named Dayal (Mehmood). He has a sister who is married. His brother-in-law and sister both want him to get married again so that his daughter can have the love and care of a woman. But Amar is not ready as he is afraid of the ill nature of a step mother. But later he reluctantly agrees and all of them go to meet two sisters named Shobha (Madhu Malini) and Sheela. Amar has decided to take a test of to be second wife whether she will give love and affection to his daughter or not. Therefore Amar goes as Dayal and Dayal goes as Amar.

Soon they reach to the destination where they are welcomed by Durga (Lalita Pawar), Shanti Swarup (Manmohan Krishna), Renu, Sheela, and Geeta (Jaya Bhaduri) who is the maid servant in the house. They begin to settle down. Dayal stays in a spacious room whereas Amar stays in the servant’s quarters where there is no space and also no electricity. There he meets and understands Geeta and slowly he feels that he is in love with her. He does not reveal his real identity and openly propose marriage to Geeta. Here Durga starts getting suspicious about Amar whether he is actually a servant or a crook.
