Jay Mehta and Revathi starrer comic drama “Muskurahat” was released under the production of Pranlal Mehta on October 30, 1992 while the movie is directed by a famous bollywood director Priyadarshan. The movie Muskurahat comes up with an ordinary story line but the way the director Priyadarshan has presented is wonderful. The movie creates the ripples of laughter throughout its course. The movie is shot in the beautiful locales of Ooty and with the presence of wonderful actors like Amrish Puri it becomes a special piece of cake. The movie revolves around the life of an old age retired Judge Gopichand Verma ( Amrish Puri ), who was in the biggest court the Supreme Court of India. He settled down in the beautiful and picturesque locations of Ooty with his family.

In his big house he had a very good and trusted servant in the form of cook Badriprasad Chaurasia ( Jagdeep ), who fulfilled every requirement of his. One day Badriprasad Chaurasia’s luck changed and he won a big lottery and hence he left Gopichand’s house. Now Gopichand is left with no other option but to hire another servant and he did so by hiring Nandini ( Revathi ). Everyone is happy with her work until one day when the movie takes a turn, Nandini claimed to be Gopichand’s daughter who was born illegitimately. After initial opposition he agrees to let her stay with him but now the real family of Gopichand starts to confront him.
