Songs of Manoranjan

Shammi Kapoor, Sanjeev Kumar and Zeenat Aman starred movie ‘Manoranjan’ is a romantic and comedy movie which was directed by Shammi Kapoor. The movie was released on 11th January, 1974 under the banner of Eagle Films. Other starcast included Dev Kumar, Madan Puri, Paintal, Asit Sen, Agha, Murad, Mac Mohan, Ratan Gaurang, Brahm Bhardwaj, Moolchand etc in important roles. The movie was produced by F.C. Mehra whereas the movie was written by Abrar Alvi. Evergreen music of the movie was given by famous Rahul Dev Burman and list of playback singers included Asha Bhosle, Manna Dey, Kishore Kumar, Lata Mangeshkar and Usha Mangeshkar. Movie starts with Ratan (Sanjeev Kumar) who has just joined the police force as a Constable at the local police station. He is assigned the duty on foot patrol on Manoranjan Street which is a notorious red-light area. He is assigned there on his very first day of his job and later he moves there. Shortly he is involved in a conversation with a good-looking young woman named Nisha (Zeenat Aman) and telling her that there is a possible violation of Suppression of Immoral Trafficking Act taking place on this street. He also watches several woman are offering sexual services to men. Therefore he decides to call in the paddy wagon and get them arrested.

But he is shocked to see one of the men frequenting the prostitutes is none other than his superior officer. He immediately summons Ratan and fired him from service on corruption charges. When Nisha comes to know about Ratan, she offered him to live alongwith her as he also becomes homeless. He knows the job of Nisha and does not wants her to sell her body. So he decides to work at night and during the day he disguises as a rich Nawab and spends time with her. The things go smoothly and he decides to get rid of the Nawab. Later he comes to know that someone has informed police that he has killed Nawab and they are out to arrest him.
