After that Mangal and Gordon becomes best friends and their friendship become more strong day by day. Their is no boundation of rank and race between them. Same occurs with Gordon when he meets Jwala (Amisha Patel) who is a widow and is all set to burn with her dead husband. He rescues her and falls in love with her. Soon East India Company introduces a new rifle called the Enfield which comes with a new cartridge. It was only a rumor that the cartridges of a new rifle were greased with the dead flesh of cows and pigs. That provokes a revolt but soldiers received assurances and Captain William Gordon and Mangal bit the bullet and pour the gunpowder in his barrels. Later it is revealed that bullets were indeed greased with cows and pigs but company promises to replace that. Mangal gets a shock when he knows that the company has no intention of replacing the cartridges. As a result Mangal incites a rebellion in the 300,000 strong Hindustani soldiers.
