Songs of Man Mandir
Sanjeev Kumar and Waheeda Rehman starred movie ‘Man Mandir’ is a family drama movie which was directed by Tapi Chanakya. The movie was released in 1971 under the banner of Vijayashree Pictures and other starcast included Sudesh Kumar, David Abraham, Sunder, Randhir, Onkar Ahmad, Jagdish Raj, Aruna Irani, Manorama, Ravikant, Helen, Mac Mohan, Krishna Kumar, Mehmood, Rakesh Roshan etc in important roles. The movie was produced by M.T. Boxwala and Sudesh Kumar whereas the story was written by Singaravelan. The screenplay and dialogues of the movie were written by Rajendra Krishan and the hit music of the movie was given by Laxmikant-Pyarelal. Songs were sang by Asha Bhosle, Suman Kalyanpur, Kishore Kumar, Lata Mangeshkar and Mukesh. Hit songs of the movie are listed below:

Movie starts with Deepak (Sanjeev Kumar) who lives a poor lifestyle alongwith his sister named Laxmi (Kanchan). Both of them got orphaned at a very young age. Now Deepak is of a marriageable age and he is introduced to Krishna (Waheeda Rehman). Soon both get married and live together with Krishna’s brother named Ramu (Rakesh Roshan). Deepak drives a taxi which is the only way to get some earnings and meet everyday needs. One day a person forgets his bag which is full of cash and Deepak returns that bag to him. After sometime Krishna gets pregnant much to the delight of the entire household. But unfortunately Ramu falls into bad company and as a result he steals Krishna’s necklace to throw a party for his friends.
Shyam Lal (David Abraham) who is a kind hearted jeweler returns the necklace to Deepak. Shyam Lal is the same person whome Deepak had returned his suitcase full of cash. Later Shyam asks Deepak to marry his sister with his son named Shankar (Sudesh Kumar) who is a doctor. Deepak gets pleased with this proposal and arranges a meeting with Shyam’s family. Later he gets a huge shock when he comes to know that Laxmi is pregnant. Shortly Ramu meets with an accident in which he is run down by a car. Later his wife gives birth to a baby boy but passes away. Also his sister drown herself in a river. He gets devastated and has his son whome he has to bring him up.
