Kumar Sanu or Kedarnath Bhattacharya is a famous playback singer of bollywood industry who is actively working in the industry since year 1984. He was born on September 23, 1957. He holds the degree of commerce from Calcutta University. Sanu made his debut as a playback singer with Aandhiyaan but went totally unoticed. He did few more film but nothing worked for him. Then came the breakthrough of his career in the form of Rahul Roy starrer Aashiqui. The six beautiful songs he rendered in the film made him an overnight singing sensation of bollywood industry. He also won Filmfare Best Male Playback Snger award for the movie.

He holds the record of recieving five consecutive Filmfare Best Male Playback Singer award for the film, Aashiqui, Saajan, Deewana, Baazigar and 1942: A Love Story. He also rendered some other hits in average films also such as Sadak, Humraaz etc. His one of the best romantic songs are from the movies like Dil Hai Ki Manta Nahi, Dil Ka Rishta, Ishq Vishk etc. He also produced a film titled Utthaan.
