Sanjay Dutt and Imran Khan starrer action thriller “Kidnap” was released on October 2, 2008. The movie is directed by Sanjay Gadhvi and produced under the banner of Shree Ashtavinayak Cinevision Ltd. Other star cast of the movie includes Minissha Lamba, Vidya Malvade,Sheila Sharma, Rushita Pandaya, Rahul Dev, Reema Lagoo, Sophie Choudry and Raj Zutshi. The popular music of the movie is composed and directed by Pritam Chakraborty and Sandeep Vyas-Sanjeev Vyas. After Zinda this movie comes with a totally different story line that is not usually seen in bollywood movies. The movie is about the revenge and satisfaction. The movie shows a tussle between a young boy and a middle aged man, this plot had an immense scope to harness but both the script writer and the director have failed to deliver. On her 18th birthday Sonia ( Manissha Lamba ) asks her mother Dr. Mallika ( Vidya Malvade ) for her father Vikrant Raina ( Sanjay Dutt ) as her birthday gift. Vikrant and his wife have divorced eight years ago. Sonia and her mother had a heated discussion over this issue and in a sad mood leave the house and didn’t return.

Dr. Mallika was shocked when she received a phone call which informed about the kidnap of her daughter. The kidnapper Kabir ( Imran Khan ) wants to negotiate with Vikrant Raina only and no one else. So Mallika hesitatingly goes to Vikrant and brings him back to solve the problem. He hires a detective but he was of no use, Kabir wants to play games with Raina. Slowly Raina came to know who Kabir is and what his purpose was. The suspense of the movie is not well plotted, the ill fitted songs and less than impressive storyline, the movie fails to grab the attention of the viewers. Though both the male actors have played their part well, the movie lacks punches.
