Songs of Khoon Aur Paani


Feroz Khan, Jeetendra, Parveen Babi and Rekha starred movie ‘Khoon Aur Paani’ is an action packed family drama which was directed by Chand. The movie was released on 10th April, 1981 under the banner of A.G. Films. Other starcast included Iftekhar, Jairaj, Jankidas, Ajit, Satyendra Kapoor, Viju Khote, Kundan, Moolchand, Deenanath Shastri, Master Romi, Raju Shrestha etc in important roles. The movie was produced by A.A. Nadiadwala whereas music of the movie was given by famous duo Laxmikant-Pyarelal. List of playback singers included Asha Bhosle, Lata Mangeshkar, Kishore Kumar and Mahendra Kapoor. The lyrics were written by Majrooh Sultanpuri. Hit songs of the movie are listed below:

Movie starts with a poor farmer who lives a poor lifestyle with his wife and two sons named Ram (Feroz Khan) and Laxman (Jeetendra). The whole region is suffering from a severe drought and there is no water to irrigate their parched fields. In the same village Thakur Vikram Singh (Ajit) also lives who is a very cruel man. The condition becomes more worse for the villagers when they see there is plenty of water being pumped to bath the dogs of Thakur Vikram Singh. Seeing this Ram Singh decides to divert some water to his parched fields. But this annoyed the Thakur and he kills Ram’s father. Ram becomes enraged and goes to kill him but only manages to kill Vikram’s brother.

In this fight he also gets seriously injured and loses his memory. Later he ends up with a gang of bandits and is renamed Thanedar Singh as he was dressed in the clothes of a police inspector. Apart from his story, his brother Laxman is also gets apart from his mother and is found near a river bank by Police Commissioner Bhalla (Om Shivpuri). He ia adopted by him. Many years later Laxman becomes a CBI officer and his brother Ram is dreaded bandit Thanedar Singh who always loses his control after listening the sound of a water-pump. The two brothers are fated to meet again albeit as strangers and mortal enemies.
