Farhan Akhtar and Deepika Padukone starred movie ‘Karthik Calling Karthik’ is a thriller and comedy packed movie which was directed by Vijay Lalwani. The movie was released on 26th February, 2010 under the banner of Excel Entertainment. Other starcast included Shefali Shetty, Ram Kapoor, Vipin Sharma, Vivan Bhatena, Yatin Karyekar, Akshat Trivedi etc in significant roles. The movie was produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani whereas thescreenplay of the movie was written by Vijay Lalwani. Music of the movie was given by famous trio Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy and list of playback singers included Kailash Kher, Sukanya Purayastha, Clinton Cerejo, Shankar Mahadevan, Kay Kay etc. Hit songs of the movie are listed below:

Movie starts with a guy named Karthik Narayan (Farhan Akhtar) who is a very shy person. He works in a construction company which runs in loss and does not produce good results. Also his boss named Kamath (Ram Kapoor) does not respects him in anyway and as a result, his colleagues are also disrespecting him. Though Karthik has a good educational background. There is a woman named Shonali Mukherjee (Deepika Padukone) who is also working in his company and Karthik has fallen in love for her. But Shonali does not knows about this. Karthik takes help of a psychiatrist named Mrs. Kapadia (Shefali Shah) who does not helps him much and therefore he decides to commit suicide.

When he is about to do that, he receives a phone call and finds that the person on the other side is himself. Other Karthik calms him down and encourages him to tackle office pressure as well as attract Shonali towards him. He follows him and later sees the changes in his life as he gets a promotion and more important is that Shonali falls in love with him. Other karthik instructs him to keep their conversations secret because people will not believe him. But he tells this to Shonali and Mrs. Kapadia which brings a storm in his life.
