John Abraham and Priyanka Chopra starrer action thriller “Karam” was released under the banner of Baweja Movies on March 12, 2005. The movie is directed by Sanjay Gupta. Other cast of the movie includes Bharat Dabholkar, Vishwajeet Pradhan, Shiney Ahuja, Murli Sharma, Rajesh Khera, Anjan Srivastava and Nitin Arora who have played significant roles in the movie. The music of the movie is composed and directed by Vishal Dadlani, Shekhar Ravjiani and Pankaj Awasthi. Karam is the directorial debut of Saanjay Gupta, the movie comes with a very common plot of hero being trapped in the shackles of black underworld and he how he gets out of this mess altogether. The movie had a great cinematography and looks great visually. But the biggest lacking of the movie is its screenplay which completely lacks substance. The story of the movie revolves around the life of a contract killer John ( John Abraham )who works for Captain ( Bharat Dabholkar ) the underworld don. After one of his assignment when he killed a whole family, he realized that this bloodshed is taking him nowhere, and also realized what great pain the inmates of his victims have to go through. So he decided to quit his job.

But his past never lets him go free. Captain was attacked by his emerging rival Yunus ( Vishwajeet Pradhan ). So he asked John to eliminate him, but when he denied his orders, Captain held John’s wife in captivity and forced him to kill the 5 top personalities of the city including Yunus within next thirty-six hours. Now the movie becomes very violent whole part is filled with bloodshed and dead bodies. John double crossed people to get his wife back. The movie looks great visually and the action sequences are very absorbing but overall the movie lacks substance and the movie would fall at the box office after initial start.
