Rajesh Khanna, Sharad Kumar and Nanda starred movie ‘Joroo Ka Ghulam’ is a family and comedy drama movie which was directed by A. Bhimsingh. The movie was released on 7th September, 1972 under the banner of United Fours. Other starcast included Achala Sachdev, Gurnam Singh, Ramesh Deo, Mridula Rani, Jayshree T., Narbada Shankar, Manmohan Krishna, Nana Palsikar, Om Prakash etc in significant roles. The story and screenplay of the movie were given by Madhusudan Kalekar and C.J. Pavri respectively whereas the dialogues were written by Akhtar-Ul-Iman. The music of the movie was given by famous duo Kalyanji-Anandji and songs of the movie were rendered by Asha Bhosle, Kishore Kumar and Lata Mangeshkar. Hit songs of the movie are listed below:

Movie starts with Rajesh (Rajesh Khanna) who lives a poor lifestyle all by himself. On the other side a young and beautiful woman named Kalpana (Nanda) lives a very wealthy lifestyle alongwith her parents consists of her father named Shyamlal (Om Prakash) and a mother named Saraswati (Achala Sachdev). Later one day, both of them meet accidentaly and later this encounter leads to the love affair between them. But when her father comes to know, he opposes this and wants to get his daughter married with the son of Girdharilal (Moolchand). Also Kalpana opposes his this decision and runs away to Rajesh which eventually lead to their marriage at the Registrar of Marriages.

Soon her father comes to know that his daughter has married with Rajesh and this leads to his anger resulting in his refusal to have to do anything with his daughter, disowning her. Here Kalpana and Rajesh get settle down and later she gives birth to a baby boy. Also Kalpana has kept in touch with her mother and tells her that both of them are well settled and also Rajesh has got a supervisory position in his job. Also they own a large bunglow and a car. Later Shyamlal and his wife decide to visit their grandson but their visit throws Kalpana in a chaos.
