Mithun Chakraborty, Deepak Tijori, Shilpa Shirodkar and Farha Naaz starred movie ‘Jeevan Ki Shatranj’ is an action and comedy drama packed movie which was directed by S.A. Chandrashekhar. The movie was released in 1993 under the banner of Universal Enterprises. Other starcast included Aruna Irani, Avtar Gill, Goga Kapoor, Kader Khan, Kiran Kumar, Farha Naaz, Mahavir Shah etc in significant roles. The movie was produced by Pawan Arora whereas the story and screenplay of the movie were written by S.A. Chandrashekhar. The dialogues were written by Anwar Khan and the music of the movie was given by famous Anand-Milind. Movie starts with a guy named Vijay Sharma (Mithun Chakraborty) who lives a wealthy lifestyle in Bombay along with his wife named Radha (Farha Naaz) and a young son named Munna and a sister named Manju Sharma (Shristhi). Unfortunately, his sister is dumb since birth. Also Vijay works as a C.I.D. Police Inspector and later he is assigned the task of searching the killer of the Commissioner of Police as he has been killed earlier. Soon he starts his investigation and later comes across evidence that may lead him to the killer. After that he submits this evidence to Assistant Commissioner of Police name Ashwini Kamble (Avtar Gill). Also he keeps two negatives with him.

Later one day he comes to know that his wife’s friend named Kiran (Shilpa Shirodkar) comes to live with them. Later he also comes to know that she is also a C.I.D. Inspector. Her stay leads to a series of comical misunderstandings but his lifes takes a new turn when he comes to know that Radha has cancer. Therefore he decides to travel to America to have her treated but a bomb blast kills her. Vijay gets devastated and decides to locate her killer. Soon a young man named Amar (Deepak Tijori) approaches him fr his and Manju’s marriage. Vijay quickly gets them married but later both of them get killed and Vijay is arrested for killing them.
