Javed Ali is a bollywood playback singer who was born as Javed Hussain and brought up in Delhi. He is the son of Ustad Hamid Hussain who is a a popular qawwali singer. He started singing since very early age with his father. He is the student of Ghulam Ali who is a famous Ghazal singer. He not only teaches him but also gave him a chance to sing. He has changed his name to Javed Ali from Javed Hussain in honor of his Guru. He was first noticed by famous music composer Anandji-Kalyanji at a stage show. They were impressed with his voice and asked him to try playback singing. He started with jingles and title track for television soaps and gradually moved to movies.

Javed Ali made his playback singing debut in the year 2000 with the movie ‘Beti No 1′ which was directed by Rama Rao Tatineni and the music in the movie was given by Viju Shah. He sang the song “Chori Chori Aankh Ladi” in the movie but did not get much success. Then he struggled hard to get success in the industry. Meanwhile he sang for several movies including Chameli (2003), Dil Jo Bhi Kahey (2005), Golmaal - Fun Unlimited (2006), Kyun…! Ho Gaya Na (2004), Neal ‘n’ Nikki (2005) and Zindaggi Rocks (2006) among others. He was shot to fame when he sang the song “Ek Din Teri Raahon Mein” in the movie ‘Naqaab‘ in 2007. The song rocks the nation. Later he sang the Punjabi-based track “Nagaada Nagaada” in ‘Jab We Met’ in 2007 which was another blockbuster hit song.

He was once again shot to fame with the song “Jashn-E-Bahaara” from the movie ‘Jodhaa Akbar’ in 2008. The music was composed by Oscar winner A.R Rahman. He has also gave his wonderful voice in ‘Yuvvraaj’ in 2008 with Alka Yagnik. The song “Tu Muskura” was picturised on Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor & Katrina Kaif. He once again gave his voice to A.R Rahman composed song “Guzarish” from the movie ‘Ghajini’ in 2008. The song was rocking and a blockbuster hit. He also sang the song “Arziyaan” from the movie ‘Delhi-6′ which was critically appreciated. He has sung for many famous composers such as A.R Rahman and Pritam Chakraborty and also sang with some established playback singers such as Sonu Nigam, Alka Yagnik, Kailash Kher etc.
