The very famous singer Jaspinder Narula is very popular in the bollywood for her playback singing. She is a powerful-voiced singer who sings the song through her soul. She is the daughter of K.S. Narula who was also a music composer of 1950s. Her commitment with singing began very early in her life when she was a child. Initially Jaspindar Narula kept away from film singing and specialized in singing bhajans and Sufiana compositions. Later she moved to Mumbai to get the way of success of her singing. She got a few assignments to sing for films, but she largely went unnoticed. Her favourite singers are Lata Mangeshkar, Mohammad Rafi, Kishore Kumar and Manna Dey.

Jaspinder Narula finally made her way to Mumbai a few years later, when Kalyanji recommended her to his son Viju Shah. The few assignments that she took up went largely unnoticed. She got the big break in 1997, when music director Anu Malik offered her an assignment in the movie ‘Virasaat’ for which she recorded a duet with Kumar Sanu. The song was “Tare Hain Barati” in the movie which became hit. From then there was no stopping Jaspinder who went on to record for the industry’s top-notch music directors. She has managed to render a fair range of tracks. She also rendered vocals for the movie ‘Mohabbatein’ which was directed by Aditya Chopra. She was shot to fame after singing a duet “Pyar To Hona Hi Tha” in the movie ‘Pyar To Hona Hi Tha’ with Remo Fernandes.

Later she declares that she is willing to try anything as long as the songs do not border on vulgarity. She has sung in many successful movies and has given many successful songs such as “Ankhiyon Se Goli Maare” from the movie ‘Dulhe Raja’, “Bumbro Bumbro Shyam Rang Bumbro” in ‘Mission Kashmir’, “Soni Soni Ankhiyon” in Mohabbatein and “I Am The Best” in ‘Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani’. With a post-graduate degree from the University of Delhi, she is pursuing her PhD on the influence of Urdu and Persian on Hindustani classical music. She has also won the Filmfare Best Playback Singer (Female) Award for the song “Pyar To Hona Hi Tha” in 1998 and Screen Awards for Best Playback Singer (Female) again for that song in 1998.
