Akshay Kumar, Shilpa Shetty and Paresh Rawal starred bollywood movie ‘Insaaf‘ is an action movie which was directed by Dayal Nihalani. The movie was released on 30th May, 1997 under the banner of Manish Arts. Other starcast included Ranjeet, Alok Nath, Mohan Joshi, Rana Jung Bahadur, Anjalika Mathur Nigam, Achyut Potdar, Vishwajeet Pradhan, Anil Nagrath etc in important roles. The movie was produced by Jimmy Nirula and Kamna Nirula whereas the story was written by Dayal Nihalani. The screenplay and the dialogues of the movie were written by Dilip Shukla. Famous duo Anand-Milind gave the music in the movie and Abhijeet, Alisha Chinoi, Poornima, Vinod Rathod and Alka Yagnik sang the songs. Hit songs of the movie are listed below:

Movie starts with Shah (Anil Nagrath) who is a gangster owing allegiance to the Janardhan gang. He is killed by Chimanbhai (Paresh Rawal). The gang leader Janardhan (Rana Jung Bahadur) is although in prison and is eager to ensures that Chimanbhai is notified of his anger and vengeance. When Chimanbhai comes to know that he decides to arrange a meeting with Janardhan and eventually killed him. There are some school-children with their teacher named Aarti Singh (Anjalika Mathur Nigam) nearby who are celebrating picnic, witness this murder. When Chimanbhai comes to know about them, he alongwith his men hunt them down and kill them all.

Soon the entire country become shocked when it comes to know about the killing. The police are in under pressure to apprehend the killers at any cost. Vikram Singh (Akshay Kumar) who is a police inspector, is also Aarti’s brother and assisting in finding out the killers. Therefore he gets his girlfriend named Divya (Shilpa Shetty) to pose as Aarti in order to lure the killers to come out into the open. But this move goes wrong and they are now on the run from Chimanbhai’s gangsters, corrupt policemen and an Member of Parliament named Jagat Narayan (Alok Nath) who is also involved in the killing.
