Saif Ali Khan and Rani Mukharjee Starrer “Hum Tum” was directed by Kunal Kohli and was released on May 28, 2004. The movie was produced by Aditya Chopra under the banner of Yash Raj Films. Other casts of the movie includes Isha Koppikar, Jimmy Shergill, Abhishek Bachchan, Kirron Kher, Rishi Kapoor, Shenaz Treasurywala, and Rati Agnihotri. The melodious music is given by Jatin Pandit and Lalit Pandit. The songs of the movie are sung by Alka Yagnik, Shaan, Sadhana Sargam, Sonu Nigam, Babul Supriyo, Udit Narayan, Juggy D, Rishi Rich, and Veronica.

The movie shows the usual difference in the thinking of a grown up girl and a boy. Both think that what they do is right and every one should be like them. Basically it’s a story of a cool guy Karan Kapoor ( Saif Ali Khan ) who is well known for his joke on young girls and boys. He works in a leading newspaper of India as a cartoonist. He named them Hum and Tum. Karan meets a girl Rhea ( Rani Mukharjee ) who is completely opposite of Karan. But the happen to foster a friendship. Trying to impress Rhea Karan kisses her and the budding friendship was abandoned by Rhea. Six Months later they meet again and now Karan was hooking up with one of Rhea’s friend ( Shenaz Treasurywala ). And finally he loses her too.

Rhea and Karan kept on meeting inadvertently and gradually become friends. Rhea in the meanwhile got married to Raj ( Abhishek Bachchan ) who accidently died in a road accident. Karan stood by her all the time during her suffering. He also tries to fix her second marriage with one of his friend Mihir  ( Jimmy Shergill ) but he happened to marry Karan’s friend Dana ( Isha Koppikar ). Obviously with Rhea’s mother ( Kiron Kher ) permission. But lastly he realized that he started feeling for Rhea and Rhea too. The movie had various hilarious incidences. The canny conversation between Rhea and Karan was very entertaining. Both played their character very well. Movie had soft side also for fervent emotional people. Also good music and sound tracks made the movie a very entertaining piece of work. After all it turned out to be a big blockbuster movie.
