Hattrick is another film that blends the flavor of cricket in its plot. The movie is based on three narratives which culminate at the same point, the only thing between the three stories which is common is CRICKET. Milan Luthria has very smartly associated the theme of cricket throughout the movie.  The movie is centered on three stories running in parallel. A veteran cricketer David Abraham ( Danny Denzongpa ), who is madly in love with cricket. Due to his illness he was admitted to a government hospital where he meets Dr. Satyajeet Chavan ( Nana Patekar ), who completely hates everything that could bring happiness on ones face. He is completely against cricket and never liked it.

The tussle between the two is fun to watch. On the other hand there is a frustrated man Hemu Patel ( Paresh Rawal ), an illegal immigrant in London. He is a complete cricket freak and only aim of his life is to get British citizenship. The third part talks about the couple of Saby ( Kunal Kapoor ) and his beautiful seductive wife Krashima ( Rimi Sen ). Saby is so mad about cricket that he even forgets his wife while watching cricket. A twisty in the story comes when his wife becomes obsessed with the cricketer Dhoni. The three stories a funny and very interesting. Nana Patekar has played his part with a great degree of precision. Other actors have also played their part equally well. Overall the movie is satisfactory, but doesn’t stands apart from rest of its kind.
