The movie Har Har Gange comes up as a mythological movie that revolves around the legendary story of the birth of the river Ganga. The story of the movie starts when Lord Shiva ( Ashish Kumar ) had a fight with his wife Sati ( Anjana ) and hence he separated himself from her and went into a complete meditation for years. When the crooked demon Taraka learnt of this he was overjoyed. Because he was cursed to be killed by the hands of Lord Shiva and this time Shiva was in deep meditation which no one can break. Hence he attacked the heavenly Devlok and easily defeated the Indraraj and his accomplices.

In the meanwhile defeated Indraraj went to Lord Bhrama for help, he told them to break the meditation of Shiva as he is the only one who can stop Takada. To win this battle of good over evil Adishakti took a birth as Uma and Ganga in the family of King of mountains Himavat ( Mohan Choti ). Ganga was adopted by Brahma and raised in heaven while Uma started her job of breaking Shiva out of meditation. Ganga is blessed with the power of water and whatever this water touches is cleared of all the sins and is completely purified. When Ganga was enraged she decided to flood the earth that is filled with evil forces. Hence Lord Shiva came out of his meditation and held the strong gush of Ganga in his hairs and hence Ganga came onto earth.
