Avinash Wadhavan and Divya Bharati starred movie ‘Geet’ is a romantic movie which was directed by Partho Ghosh. The movie was released on 20th November, 1992 under the banner of Veshaakha Films. Other starcast included Laxmikant Berde, Dharmesh Tiwari, Anil Dhawan, Shravani Goswami, Brijesh Tiwari, Shakti Kapoor, Meghna, Ramesh Sadhuram Taurani etc in important roles. The movie was produced by Nilima Paul whereas the tory of the movie was written by Achala Nagar. Music was rendered by famous Bappi Lahiri and list of playback singers included Lata Mangeshkar, Kavita Krishnamurthy, Debasis Dasgupta, Mohammed Aziz, Alka Yagnik, Kumar Sanu etc. Hit songs of the movie are listed below:

Movie starts with a guy named Rajesh Tripathi (Avinash Wadhavan) who lives a poor lifestyle in a village alongwith his father named Shivshankar who is a widower. Rajesh has completed his studies at the village and now he has to leave for Bombay for higher studies. Soon he comes to the city of dreams, Bmbay and there he becomes a fan of singer and dancer named Neha (Divya Bharati). He also paints hordings for her shows. After sometime, he comes back to his village during his vacations and gets full of shock and pleasure to see Neha as she has relocated there. He wants to get friendly with her but his overtures shatter when police get involve for alleged molestation.

But soon Rajesh gets his name clear from police. After that Neha entraps him to accompany her to an isolated shack and locks him there. This incident almost kills Rajesh but later Neha does accepts his friendship. She trusts on him and therefore tells him that she can never sing again in future as she has been poisoned by her former manager named Hari Saxena (Shakti Kapoor). The poison was so effective that it has damaged her vocal chords. Now Rajesh has decided to work with her to get her voice again in the same way as it was before.
