Vinod Khanna, Rekha and Vinod Mehra starred bollywood movie ‘Elaan’ is a thriller packed movie which was directed by K. Ramanlal. The movie was released in 1971 and other starcast included Rajendra Nath, Madan Puri, Jankidas, Brahm Bhardwaj, Helen, Dulari, Hercules, Rashid Khan, Iftekhar, Sanjana, Shetty and Jagdish Raj in significant roles. The movie was produced by F.C. Mehra and the music was scored by famous Jaikishan Dayabhai Pankal and Shankarsinh Raghuwanshi. Movie starts with Naresh Kumar Saxena (Vinod Mehra) who lives a simple lifestyle with his mother named Mrs. Saxena (Dulari) and a sister. He is a freelance photographer and journalist by profession and is satisfy what he is. Once he meets Mala Mehta (Rekha) who is the daughter of Mr. Mehta (Brahm Bhardwaj) who is the Editor of a Newspaper. Mr. Mehta becomes impress with his work ability and quality and offers him a job in his newspaper which Naresh accepts. He assigns him to go to a remote island to investigate and expose some illegal activities which are active there. So Naresh has to go there and he does so. He goes there with the company of his friend named Shyam (Rajendra Nath).

But unfortunately, Naresh gets caught by the island guards and lodged in a cell where he finds two other persons. On further inquiry, he comes to know that one among them is a scientist and other is a hoodlum named Ram Singh (Vinod Khanna). Scientist tells Naresh that he has made an atomic ring that when inserted in someone’s mouth will turn that person invisible and subsequently passes away. Naresh takes that ring and puts the ring in his mouth and becomes invisible. The news of his escape creates waves in the underworld and the Boss and Mr. Verma join forces to find Naresh, kill him, and keep the ring for themselves.
