Amitabh Bachchan, Zeenat Aman and Pran starred superhit bollywood movie ‘Don’ is an action, comedy and thriller movie which was directed by Chandra Barot. The movie was released on 20th April, 1978 under the banner of Nariman Films. Other starcast included Iftekhar, Om Shivpuri, Satyendra Kapoor, Kamal Kapoor, Arpana Choudhary, Helen, Mac Mohan, Azad, Yashraj, Devaraj etc played important supporting roles. The movie was produced by Nariman A. Irani whereas the story, screenplay and dualogues of the movie were written by famous Salim-Javed. Evergreen music of the movie was given by famous Kalyanji-Anadji and list of playback singers included Asha Bhosle, Kishore Kumar and Lata Mangeshkar. Hit songs of the movie are listed below:

Movie starts with the Don (Amitabh Bachchan) who is wanted by the police. He is the big name in the crime world and has done every criminal activities that are punishable in the eyes of law. But one day he is killed by the police in a shootout. But this truth is only known by Police Officer D’Silva (Iftekhar) who kills him. Fortunately D’Silva tracks another person named Vijay (Amitabh Bachcan) who is looking like Don. He finds him on the streets where he usually sings with two siblings. D’Silva promises him that he will give a proper education to his wards who are actually the children of Jasjit (Pran) but in return he has to take place of Don and help police in capturing of rest of the gang. He agrees after getting assurance from him.

At the Don place everyone starts beleiving that Don has been killed or dead. But everyone gets shocked to see Vijay/Don when he comes back but loses his memory. Meanwhile, Jasjit comes out of prison after serving his term, only to find Officer D’Silva having a red diary that would show Vijay’s true identity. But unfortunately DSP gets killed by R.K Mallik (Om Shivpuri) who introduces himself as interpole officer, but he is the real king of the underworld. Vijay becomes a suspect and his roles of Don comes to an end. His gang comes to know he is a fraud.
