Songs Of Dilli Ka Thug


Kishore Kumar and Nutan Behl starred movie ‘Dilli Ka Thug’ is a comedy movie which was directed by S.D. Narang. The movie was released in 1958 under the banner of New Oriental Pictures. Other starcast included Smriti Biswas, Madan Puri, Minoo Mumtaz, Amar, Ratna, Iftekhar, Pratima Devi and many more who played significant roles in the movie. The movie was produced and written by S.D. Narang whereas the dialogues of the movie were written by H.A. Rahi. Music was rendered by famous Ravi and list of playback singers included Asha Bhosle, Geeta Dutt and Kishore Kumar. Lyrics of the songs were given by famous lyricist Majrooh Sultanpuri. Movie starts with a young guy named Kishore (Kishore Kumar) who lives a poor lifestyle alongwith his mother (Pratima Devi) who is a widow and a sister (Shakuntala). Kishore is a journalist and wants a job according to him but unfortunately is unable to secure any job to support his mother. Though his father was also a journalist who was killed by the gang distributing fake medication throughout the country. Also his marriage has been already fixed in his childhood with Asha (Nutan) who is now a young and pretty woman. His mother goes to her parents to fix the date of their marriage but is shocked when Asha’s uncle refuses. Then Kishore decides to gamble in order to make some money to which his mother throws him out of the house.

Here Asha is a famous swimming and diving champion. Her uncle named Professor Amarnath is none other than Anantram who is the leader of the fake medicine gang. A man named Bihari (Madan Puri) and another man named Sohanlal work for him. Now Kishore one day comes to Asha’s house pretending himself to be a journalist and interviewd her. She gets frustrated of him after his antics. Later one day Kishore alongwith his some friends comes across Sohanlal and one of his friend flicks the wallet from Sohanlal. The life of Kishore changes when he comes across a letter inside the purse and when Sohanlal is killed.
