Ajay Devgan and Kajol starrer romantic thriller “Dil Kya Kare” was released under the production of Veena Devgan and Veeru Devgan on September 24, 1999. The movie is directed by Prakash Jha and the supporting cast includes Mahima Choudhary, Chandrachur Singh, Farida Jalal, Laxmikant Berde, Baby Akshita Garud, Mohan Joshi, Anant Mahadevan, Avtar Gill, Achla Sachdev, Aroon Bakshi, Sameer and Pushpa Verma. The music of the movie is composed and directed by Jatin Pandit and Lalit Pandit. The movie Dil Kya Kare is the first movie of the couple Ajay Devgan and Kajol after their marriage. The movie is based in Delhi, talks about the story of a married couple and an extra martial relation of the husband. The movie revolves around Anand Kishore ( Ajay Devgan ), who is happily married to his true love Kavita ( Mahima Chaudhary ). After some time into their marriage they decided to have a child and hence Kavita gave birth to a baby daughter Neha (Akshita Garud). With the arrival of a baby their life became even happier than before.

Soon this married life started facing the daemons of suspicion, Kivita started noticing a woman regularly visiting Neha and giving her gifts and all. When she inquired about this women she came to know that the lady was Nandita Rai ( Kajol ). The reality about her completely shattered the whole family. Nandita was the real biological mother of Neha, what made things even worse was the news that Anand knew her all the while. Few time back Nandita met Anand in a train journey and both shared intimate moments in the train which led her to give birth to Neha. Now Anand is torned between three ladies, his wife Kavita, daughter Neha and Nandita. Who does he choose?
