Deepika Padukone is a famous and superhit bollywood actress who was born on 5th January, 1986 at Copenhagen, Denmark. She is an Indian model turned actress who appears in Bollywood movies. She is the daughter of Prakash Padukone who was a badminton player of international repute and her mother named Ujjala is a travel agent. Her family moved to Bangalore (Bangaluru) when she was only eleven months old. Her parents Chitrapur Saraswat Brahmins hail from Padukone village in Kundapura Taluk of Udupi District, Karnataka. She has a younger sister named Anisha who was born in 1991. She attended Sophia High School in Bangalore and completed her Pre-university studies at Mount Carmel College in Bangalore.

She played badminton at the state level like her father and was a member of her father’s badminton club while in high school. She pursued a career in modeling when she was in college. She has also modeled for Liril, Dabur Lal powder, Close-Up toothpaste and Limca and ‘brand ambassador’ for the Jewels of India retail jewelery show. She was also chosen as the brand ambassador of Kingfisher Airlines and later Levi Strauss and Tissot SA. Deepika made her entry in the music video for the song “Naam Hai Tera Tera” from the independent pop album ‘Aap Kaa Surroor’ which was sang by Himesh Reshammiya. Her first movie was a Kannada movie ‘Aishwarya’ in which she starred opposite Upendra.
