Songs of Charas
Dharmendra and Hema Malini starred bollywood movie ‘Charas’ is an action and thriller packed movie which was produced, written and directed by famous Ramanand Sagar. The movie was released on 24th May, 1976 under the banner of Sagar Art International. Other starcast included Amjad Khan, Ajit, Aruna Irani, Keshto Mukherjee, Asrani, Sujit Kumar, P. Jairaj, D.K. Sapru, Nasir Hussain, Manmohan Krishna, Tom Alter etc in important roles. The screenplay and dialogues of the movie were written by Moti Sagar and Ved Rahi whereas the music was given by famous Laxmikant-Pyarelal. List of playback singers included Anand Bakshi, Asha Bhosle, Mahendra Kapoor, Kishore Kumar, Mohammad Rafi etc. Hit songs of the movie are listed below:

Movie starts with Suraj (Dharmendra) who lives a wealthy lifestyle in Uganda alongwith his father and a sister. They have a large and huge propery and business in India which are managed by an employee named Kalicharan (Ajit). Kalicharan is not a good charactered person as he is involved in drugs and smuggling also. Once Suraj with his father and sister are forced to leave Uganda due to some political upheaval which is caused by General Idi Amin. When Kalicharan comes to know that the whole family is going to come India to stay forever, he gets a huge shock as he has invested their mney in smuggling drugs. After seeing no other option he sets their house on fire.
Suraj’s father is killed and his sister is abducted. After then he is recruited by the police to stop Kalicharan’s smuggling activities. This leads him to Europe. After sometime he meets with a gorgeous lady named Sudha (Hema Malini) who is a dancer. She has been blackmailed by Kalicharan into helping smuggle the drugs. Now Suraj has decided to find his sister and also to take revenge from Kalicharan.
