Bobby Deol and Rani Mukherjee starrer action thriller Badal is written and directed by Raj Kanwar. The other starcast of the film includes Amrish Puri, Ashutosh Rana, Ashish Vidhyarti and Mayuri Kango. The movie was released on 11 February 2000. Music Director Anu Malik has given the music of the film. Badal ( Bobby Deol) witnesses the death of his family and villagers on the order of Police Inspector Jai Singh Rana ( Ashutush Rana ). Mantavir ( Ashish Vidhyarti ), a terriorist helped by Badal’s father in past, saves him from Jai Singh Rana. Now Badal has only one motive in his life and that is to find and kill Jai Singh Rana. Badal becomes a dangerous terrorist under the training of Mantavir. He is asked to take the looted money to Sundar Nagar.

On arriving there, Badal comes into contact with a very good famil headed by an honest police officer, ACP Ranjeet Singh ( Amrish Puri ). Ranjeet Singh bring him at his home and asks him to stay there. However, initially Ranjeet’s family tries to ignores him. But later they all accepts him as their family member. Ranjeet’s elder daughter Sohni ( Mayuri Kango ) makes him her brother. Sohni’s friend Rani ( Rani Mukherjee ) falls in love with Badal.
