Songs of Awaargi


Anil Kapoor, Govinda and Meenakshi Sheshadri starrer bollywood drama “Awaargi” was released under the production of P Raghunathan on January 26, 1990 while the movie is directed by Mahesh Bhatt, other cast of the movie includes Avtar Gill, Anupam Kher, Paresh Rawal, Satish Kaushik, Deepak Qazir, Mahesh Anand, Kirti Kumar, Rajesh Singh, Jugnu and Pradeep Rawat. The melodious music of the movie is composed and directed by Anu Malik while the songs are sung by Lata Mangeshkar, Mohammad Aziz, Ghulam Ali, Anuradha Paudwal and Asha Bhosle.

The movie Awaargi comes up with a wonderful plot that revolves around the underworld gangsters and also touches the social topics like prostitution and their rehabilitation. The moviue revolves around a gangster Azad ( Anil Kapoor ), who is the Henchman of a dreaded underworld don Lala Jamal Khan ( Anupam Kher ). Azad was his favorite ally who always obeyed his order. There is a big rival of Lala jamal Khan in the form of Bhau ( Paresh Rawal ), a pimp named Ranubhai ( Avtar Gill )used to supply girls to Bhau.

One day Azad came across a beautiful prostitute Seema ( Meenakshi Seshadri ) and lost his heart for her. Bhau also had his eyes on her and incidentally Seema worked under Ranubhai hence he forced Azad to let her go to Bhau but Azad was frozed on his pointhe won’t let her go to anyone else. Even when Lala forced him to let Seema he didn’t and faced the turmoil from the men of both the gangs, he defied everyone in saving his love. He helped Seema realize her dreams of becoming a singer by introducing her to Dhiren ( Govinda ) a popular music director. She became an instant hit and now Shiren is also inlove with her. What happens next?
