Om Puri, Ashutosh Rana and Sharbani Mukherji starred movie ‘Ansh: The Deadly Part’ is an action packed movie which was directed by Rajan Johri. The movie was released on 2nd April, 2002 under the banner of Rukamanee Arts. Other starcast included Abbas, Shama Sikander, Rajat Bedi, Ashish Vidyarthi, Sayaji Shinde, Pankaj Berry, Alok Nath, Anil Nagrath, Mushtaq Khan, Madan Kabir etc in significant roles. The movie was produced by Suresh Sharma and Samee Siddiqui whereas the story, screenplay and dialogues of the movie were written by Rajan Johri. The music was given by Nadeem-Shravan and the songs were sung by Mohammed Aziz, Kay Kay, Kavita Krishnamurthy, Shantanu Mukherjee, Sonu Nigam, Kumar Sanu etc. Hit songs of the movie are listed below:

Movie starts with Bhagat Pandey (Om Puri) who is Deputy Superintendent of Police. He is thorough, honest and has an excellent track record of apprehending criminals. He has been in problems many times with other criminals who are closely connected to powerful politicians due to his background. Soon he is transferred to Mumbai where he has to go. There he comes and takes the charge of his post. There also he transferrs everything to a diligent and honest policing machine. Soon he becomes a problem for the politicians and criminals and unfortunately they do not like his diligence and talk about transferring him to Kashmir. There he will be killed in an encounter by a terrorist.

Later Bhagat comes in touch with Sukhdev Singh (Ashutosh Rana) who is a suspended Police Inspector. Soon he meets another person named Rajnath Guru (Abbas) who is a gangleader. He is the son of a freedom-fighter named Dinanathji (Aloknath). Like Raj Guru, Bhagat Singh and Sukhdev Singh were the ones who fought for freedom again the British, Rajnath Guru, Bhagat Pandey and Sukhdev Singh fight against corruption and their very own lives.
