The movie Ankahee revolves around the predictions of an astrologer which invariably comes true. The movie tells the story of a family that is driven by the predictions this astrologer makes. The story of the movie focuses around the life of a doctor called Dr. Vinod ( Vinod Mehra ), who is a senior surgeon in a hospital. One day when he was about to get ready for a surgery of a woman, an astrologer called Jyotibhaskar Pandit Satyanarayan Chaturvedi came to visit him. The astrologer warned him that the operation that he is going to conduct would be unsuccessful.

The lady would end up with her life, being from a scientific background Doctor didn’t believed in the prediction and went through with the operation. The prediction came true and the woman lost her life. The doctor came out and humbly fell in the feet of the jyoti Bhaskar, he invited the astrologer to come alongwith him to his house which he agreed to. He stayed with his family consisting of his wife and son Nandu ( Amol Palekar ). The astrologer predicted that Nandu would marry two women and one of them would. In fact Nandu was in love with Sushma Chatopadhya while his father wanted to marry him with another girl. Is the prediction going to be true this time also??
