Amrita Arora is a bollywood actress who was born on 31st January, 1978 at Mumbai, Maharashtra. She is the daughter of a Punjabi father named Anil Arora and a Malayali mother named Joyce Polycrap. She has an elder sister named Malaika Arora who is a famous bollywood actress and married to Arbaaz Khan who is also an actor in bollywood. She was romantically involved with Kevin Otter, Ashmit Patel and Upen Patel and she also dated the British-Pakistani cricketer Usman Afzaal. She is recently married to Shakeel Ladak on 4th March, 2009 in a Christian wedding ceremony. She is a talented actress but fails to get leading roles.

Amrita Arora made her bollywood debut in the year 2002 with the movie ‘Kitne Door Kitne Paas’ which was directed by Mehul Kumar. She played the role of Karishma opposite Fardeen Khan alongwith Satish Shah, Tiku Talsania and Ketki Dave. The movie was proved to be a flop at the box office and she was rated average in acting. Later she starred in ‘Awara Paagal Deewana’ which was her first successful movie which was directed by Vikram Bhatt in 2002. She played as Mona opposite Akshay Kumar, Sunil Shetty, Aftab Shivdasani, Paresh Rawal and Johnny Lever in the movie. She was appreciated for her performance and started to get more offers. As a result she appeared in her next movie ‘Ek Aur Ek Gyarah‘ in 2003 in which she played as Preeti opposite Sanjay Dutt and Govinda.

She made a special appearance in the sizzling item number “Pyar Tera Dilli Ki Sardi” in the movie ‘Zameen’ in 2003. The song was superhit featuring Amrita Arora hot and sexy. She was highlighted in news when starring in the controversial movie titled ‘Girlfriend‘ in 2004. She starred alongwith Isha Koppikar and the movie was based on lesbian relationship. The movie ‘Fight Club: Members Only’ in 2006 gave her an opportunity to show her skills of acting which she did very well by playing the role of Sonali Malhotra alongwith Sunil Shetty, Sohail Khan, Zayed Khan and Dino Morea. She once again starred in a controversial movie ‘Red-The Dark Side’ in 2007 where there was a controversy over the twenty-seven minute sex scene. She also appeared in Mujhse Shaadi Karogi (2004), Raakh (2007), Speed (2007), Hello (2008), Golmaal Returns (2008) and Heroes (2008).
