Shiney Ahuja and Soha Ali Khan starrer bollywood movie “Khoya Khoya Chand” was released on December the 7th, 2008. The movie is directed by bollywood director Sudhir Mishra under the banner of Holi Cow Pictures. Other starcast of the movie includes Soniya Jehan, Rajat Kapoor, Vinay Pathak, Sushmita Mukherjee, Yusuf Hussain, Pradeep Kharab and Hyder Ali who played significant roles. The movie Khoya Khoya Chand brings back to reality the gone back era of the 50’s and 60’s on the silver screen. Sudhir Mishra is able to bring all the essence and drama of that golden period successfully. The movie isn’t blessed with a gripping storyline but the screenplay and cinematography of some scenes wonderfully blends into the foray of the focused environment. Though the movie comes with some loopholes ( like slow pace ) but it never diminishes the charm of the movie. The storyline is based on the struggling actors in bollywood during the period of 1950-60. Nikhat ( Soha Ali Khan ) a budding actress very quickly becomes a great star.

But this success does’t comes on its own, she had to return favours against the timely help that came from superstar Prem kumar ( Rajat Kapoor ). She finds herself strangled in the unruly prison of Prem Kumar. Struggling actor Zafar ( Shiney Ahuja ) comes into her life and helps her break the shackles. As thought the story doesn’t ends here, with a twist there relationship didn’t survives for a long. Director Sudhir Mishra has been able to extract the best out of the actors who really have performed brilliantly on the screen, booth Shiney and Soha look marvelous on screen. With equally matching music to the theme of the movie music director Shantanu Moitra is been able to create the fusion of the music and screenplay. Overall the movie is a beauty to watch and with its melodious music it brings alive the golden period.
