Ajay Devgan and Abhishek Bachchan starrer action movie “Zameen” was released on September 26, 2003. The movie is directed by Rohit Shetty. Other cast of the movie includes Bipasha Basu, Mukesh Tiwari, Mohan Joshi, Pankaj Dheer, Amrita Arora, Rajendra Sethi, Kamal Chopra and Eijaz Khan who have performed significant role in the story of the movie. The music of the movie is composed and directed by Himesh Reshammiya and the songs of the movie are sung by Hema Sardesai, K K, Shweta Shetty, Shaan, Alka Yagnik and Babul Supriyo.

Zameen is the directorial debut of Rohit Shetty, the movie is based on the real incidence of Air India flight hijack. The movie has a good story woven around the real incident. The screenplay of the movie is well crafted by the director. The movie is blessed with a good star cast. The story of the movie starts with a dreaded terrorist Baba Zaheer ( Mukesh Tiwari ) being arrested by Col. Ranvir ( Ajay Devgan ). Soon few more terrorists crossed the border and entered India. When Col. Ranvir got the information ab out them he started tracking them. He started detailed investigation about them and managed to gain substantial information.

At the same time in the Mumbai city police incharge ACP Jai ( Abhishek Bachchan ) got the information from his intelligence that few people were trying to bring weapons into the state and hence he started tracing their whereabouts. Soon Col. Ranvir also joined him but they were not able to prevent them from hijacking the Indian airline plane. They made the passengers and the crew their hostages and took them to the Pakistan Occupied Kashmir and demanded the release of Baba Zaheer in lieu of the hostages. Ranvir and Jai are on the mission to save Indian citizens and also teach the terrorists a lesson. The story is well presented by the debutant director but some how the movie is not able to make a lasting impact on the viewers.
